How to prevent and get rid of puffy eyes.
Puffiness under eyes is usually apparent in the morning when waking up. It is not an uncommon occurrence. The puffy eyes usually do not last long and disappears as the body’s fluids drain from the eye area. But if the puffy eye persists it could indicate a problem that should be seen by a physician.
Causes of Puffiness
Puffiness under eyes could be caused by the body being dehydrated and storing water. Puffy eyes can also occur from drinking alcohol or eating salty foods before going to sleep. Allergies also can cause redness and itching puffy eyes. The ageing process results in skin losing elasticity which can cause the puffy eye look. Puffiness under eyes is also sometimes hereditary.
Whatever the reason, most people want to get rid of the puffy eyes as quickly as they can, as the condition can make them look tired and often interferes with the opening and closing of the puffy eye.
