Prevent Foot Calluses following these simple steps.
Keeping your feet soft and supple is an ongoing process. The first step is to have shoes that fit. Calluses form at pressure points where your feet rub against your shoes, or against the ground as you walk. Nature wants to protect your feet, so the skin begins to thicken in those areas, and a callus forms. With good fitting shoes there are fewer stress points and fewer calluses. Also avoid going barefoot on harsh surfaces like gravel roads or concrete.
But let's face it, the best shoes are the ones with pointy toes and a hundred pressure points! How do you avoid calluses on feet and still wear your stilettos? Preventative maintenance is the key to minimizing foot calluses.
